Episode 34: Catching up with Manny Ramirez in Inwood

English. This is the time of year that many people in NY/NJ area suffer from colds and flu and SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). The cold weather is hard on my Caribbean self, I can't deny, but I'm taking full advantage of the opportunity to have good conversations with people this side of the Atlantic, about everything under the sun. This episode marks the first one of 2018, with my BF from High School, Manny Ramirez. He is a pharmacist who now owns Dichter Pharmacy up in Inwood, where he worked when we were teenagers. He's created a space for community where not only can neighbors buy their medication, but they can eat a bagel, drink a float, see live professional musicians perform, learn Arabic or even recite poetry. We talked about that and many other things, including the need to slow down, growing up Nuyorican and learning to identify the apples from the oranges. Listen here or via Stitcher or Apple Podcasts.

Intensity mixed with fire, enthusiasm combined with artistic expression, forward thinking yet historically dramatic... A doer, an idea maker, a talker and thinker... always needing to do more movement, to make more music and to live with inspiration.
